On Sale at THE NATURE STORE! TAKE YOUR STARGAZING SERIOUSLY THIS SUMMER! FIND A NEW TELESCOPE, STAR CHART OR ASTRONOMY BOOK AT THE NATURE STORE
10% off All Equipment, Charts and Books Relating to Astronomy May 15 ~ June 15, 2010 (20% for Museum Members) The month of June is a wonderful time for gazing at the heavens! Let us get you prepared with equipment and star guides from THE NATURE STORE at the Museum.
Gaze through your new Orion telescope from THE NATURE STORE to see Mars as it slips above the star Regulus in the early days of the month. Mark Breen suggests looking for the contrasting colors of the reddish Mars with the steely-blue tint of Regulus, the brightest star in Leo, the Lion. The moon will be gorgeous mid-month when viewed through one of our affordable, high-quality Gallileoscope telescopes, and a patch of stars called the Behive Cluster will be beautifully visible just by focusing your binoculars between the twins of Gemini and Mars.
Need a little more help navigating the stars? Try using a planisphere and a red-light reader from the Museum's store to guide you through the night sky. Stop by THE NATURE STORE soon to prepare for your summer stargazing adventures!
