Through grants from the Vermont Department of Health and the Environmental Protection Agency, the Fairbanks Museum has developed a model science education program to educate students, teachers, families, and their communities about the nature of radon and radioactivity, radon's occurrence in the environment, and its potential health risks. Radon Education Traveling Exhibition —
The Museum has created a portable traveling exhibition on the nature of Radon. The exhibition is suitable for display in schools, libraries, banks, hospitals, and secure indoor public spaces is available for loan in Vermont. The exhibition consists of four panels, each 77 inches high by 38 inches wide, joined by hinges. Each panel has a display area 48 inches by 36 inches. Text and illustrations describe the origin of radon, its impact as a public health issue, radon testing of the home, and simple mitigation methods.
